Do the things that we are too afraid to think need names? Are they Nightmares, Fears, Darkness, is it Reality? Many of us are afraid of the Reality we live in. Are we insane? Maybe. In denial? Probably. Human? Definitely. Could we shed our mortal selves and delve into a make believe, a Reality, that knows it’s not real? Rational thinkers don’t think so, but Rational thinkers don’t live in Rational Reality. They make everything fit, they connect the dots, and fill in the blanks, and find cures to the common cold. But in Rational Reality these things don’t exist. Reality is filled with big gaping holes, and unsigned dotted lines, and children who color outside the page. Reality’s Creativity is much like a child’s coloring book. There are indecipherable scribbles, and sloppy circles, and pages left completely blank. Creativity bursts forth and spills off the pages. It gets into the carpet and glides across the walls and grinds itself into the hardwood floors, and sometimes finds itself on Mommies and Daddies important papers, where it doesn’t belong, but it forces itself to stay, leaving a lasting impression on everything in its path. It destroys and builds up. It illuminates and darkens. It clarifies and it says “no comment” all at once. What if everything were this way? These are the things I am afraid to think.
