If you ask me it symbolize life with all it's choices pretty well. Although, I'd say life is more a 2-roads combination. One leading to your life's goal and the other- leading to maybe smaller goal. Somewhere you're not supposed to be, but that still offers lessons if you can't handle the major goal. And the life is the labyrinth between the two. How about a road with many many crossroads?
